2013 International Scooter Rally

This weekend the Island's atmosphere will have a hint of 2-stroke in it as the annual scooter rally is with us once again. 

Although around 5,000 scooterists are usually predicted to descend upon the Island during the August bank holiday weekend, numbers were noticeably down last year (2012) so it will be interesting to see whether this trend has continued. 

The traditional 'ride out' is scheduled to take place at 1pm on Sunday 25th August from the Ice Rink in Ryde through to the Rugby Club in Sandown via;  Ryde Esplanade, East Hill Road and Appley Road, Calthorpes Road, Pondwell Hill, Nettlestone Hill, Nettlestone Green, Eddington Road and Upper Green Road (St Helens) Station Road, Embankment Road, Kings Road, Sherbourne Street, High Street (Bembridge), Mill Road, Sandown Road, Yaverland Road and Culver Parade, Fort Street, Avenue Road, Perowne Way and Station Approach ending at Shanklin / Sandown Rugby Club. Ryde Esplanade will be closed from George Street to North Walk between 11.15am and 2.30pm.
