A spectacular tour around England in miniature based on the Island Explorer CD 'Around The Island Tour'. The DVD begins with an introduction to the Isle of Wight by local ghost walk celebrity; Marc Tuckey who briefs the viewer about the history and statistics of the Island. He then travels round the Island in a clock-wise direction following the traditional coach tour route. Beginning in Ryde we see Union Street, the pier and make a trip on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. The world's oldest passenger hovercraft service is also featured. The tour then continues via Brading, Sandown, Shanklin (including the famous chine), Bonchurch, Ventnor, Niton, Blackgang Chine, along the Military Road, Freshwater, Alum Bay (including the Needles Park and battery), Yarmouth, Shalfleet, Newtown, Carisbrooke Castle, Newport and finally Wootton. There are many spectacular views and scenery to be enjoyed while hearing about the historical facts along the way. The DVD has an menu which enables the viewer to choose to either play all or watch a particular sequence. This is an ideal souvenir for visitors to the Isle of Wight or as an educational film for schools.
