On a damp, dull, murky 3rd July Tuesday evening, the entire fleet of 7 P & O cruise ships sailed passed Ryde to celebrate 175 years of history of the company. The ships; Adonia, Arcadia, Aurora, Oceana, Oriana and Ventura are quite common sights travelling through the Solent individually but never before have we seen them like this. The type 45 destroyer, HMS Dragon was at anchor in Stokes Bay for the event and the ships dwarfed it as they passed on either side while it's crew gave them a traditional Royal Navy honorary wave from the destroyer's deck. Filming this historic occasion was a tad challenging due to the conditions but we managed to put together a 10 and a half minute clip which is available to view HERE
