 In case you missed it, we were there on Friday 10th August to film the Children's Carnival Parade in Ryde. It's the first of 3 carnival parades which are held annually in Ryde, the next being the Main Carnival Parade which was on Saturday 11th August (footage to follow!) and then the 'biggy' of the Carnival season, the Ryde Illuminated parade which is to take place on Saturday 1st September. Ryde Carnival is the oldest established carnival in England. The first true event was held in 1888 but the real origins extend a year further back to Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee of 1887.
