Situated along Bonchurch Shute on the outskirts of Ventnor is the historic Bonchurch Inn.
The pub began life as the Tap of the Bonchurch Family Hotel. An unusual pub as it has it's own secluded courtyard with a patio area and sun lounge. The host, Gillian Besozzi (wife of the late Ulisse) has been in charge since 1984 so possibly the longest serving licencee on the Isle of Wight.
As the name suggests, the late Ulisse (Nino to his friends) was from Italy and the pub boasts a menu with some fantastic Italian dishes. A must for the real ale drinker too as the beer comes straight out of the barrels behind the bar!
